Metabolic syndrome

It is estimated that one-third of Dutch men and a quarter of women between the ages of 30 and 70 have metabolic syndrome. Metabolic syndrome is often seen as a precursor to type II diabetes.

It is a metabolic disorder in which there is an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. It is also called metabolic syndrome, insulin resistance syndrome or syndrome X. Metabolic syndrome is one of the biggest health risks of our time and has five risk factors:

  • abdominal obesity (many fat deposits on the abdomen)
  • high blood pressure
  • low HDL cholesterol
  • elevated blood glucose levelsel
  • evated blood triglyceride levels
  • If at least three of these five risk factors are present, it is considered metabolic syndrome. Quadrivas Therapy, as in type II diabetes,
  • targets blood circulation, blood vessels and the (fatty) tissue around the vessels.

During the treatment process, the blood vessels and surrounding tissue are returned to a healthy state. Nutrients and oxygen can be better supplied and waste products and carbon dioxide more easily removed. Symptoms due to poor circulation such as pain when walking, cold feet and poor wound healing reduce or disappear. However, a lifestyle change is often required. The syndrome is usually completely reversible.
